Leading with Higher Education, Graduate Certificate

This graduate certificate is designed for people interested in enhancing their understanding of historic and contemporary issues in higher education. Current students in UVU masters programs will expand their knowledge and experience in higher education leadership through 9 credit hours of coursework to earn this certificate. This certificate is relevant for anyone interested in careers in higher education and higher education adjacent sectors.

Matriculation Requirements

Acceptance into a UVU Master's program or acceptance into the Graduate Certificate in Leading With Higher Education program by meeting the following minimum requirements:

A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university, a nationally accredited program, or the international equivalent.

A 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA or a 3.0 GPA calculated on the last 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of undergraduate work.

Graduation Requirements

1. Minimum of 9 credits required for a Certificate. 
2. Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher required in graduate certificate courses with no grade lower than a "C" in graduate certificate courses.
3. Residency hours -- minimum of 6 credit hours through course attendance at UVU.  
4. Graduate certificate coursework shall be completed within a period of six years.
