Program Description
The Undergraduate Certificate in General Education is comprised of the courses that are required for completion of the general education requirements at Utah Valley University. The purpose of general education at UVU is a shared academic experience that provides students with the opportunity to explore new subjects, intellectual traditions, and perspectives; expands their awareness of the wider world; and prepares them with foundational knowledge, skills, and abilities that are expanded on in their disciplines of study in order to be successful learners and professionals positioned to contribute to their broader communities. When a student completes the requirements for the Undergraduate Certificate in General Education at UVU, the certificate is accepted at other USHE institutions as completing their General Education requirements.
