Program Description

The Criminal Justice, Undergraduate Certificate prepares students for entry-level roles in law enforcement, corrections, and related fields. High school students can earn this certificate through a Career and Technical Education pathway that stacks into specific UVU certificates and degrees. Students gain foundational knowledge and practical skills to advance academically and professionally in criminal justice.

Program Learning Outcomes

1. Describe the components of the criminal justice system, including criminal law, victimization, adjudication, corrections, police-community relations, evidence, ethics, and theory.
2. Analyze and evaluate information from multiple sources to assess and critique crime scene scenarios.
3. Apply critical thinking to approach complex problems by considering different perspectives and alternative solutions in crime scene analysis.
