Program Description
The Certificate of Proficiency in Intelligence is aimed at students pursuing a baccalaureate degree, as well as existing professionals, who are seeking to advance their career opportunities with a specialization in intelligence. The certificate is supported by an interdisciplinary national security program that prepares students and professionals to advance in public and private sector national security and investigative careers through the acquisition of subject matter expertise, intelligence gathering techniques, and analytical skills. This certificate exposes students to a wide variety of twenty-first century intelligence challenges, including critical issues regarding the proper collection, retention, use, analysis, and dissemination of intelligence. Students will also acquire specialized skills in research, writing, briefing, critical thinking, and analysis uniquely tailored to the national security and investigative fields. The Intelligence Certificate of Proficiency will provide students interested in counterterrorism, homeland security, intelligence gathering and analysis, financial crimes, foreign relations, law and politics, diplomacy, international development, business intelligence, and similar fields with the insight and skills needed to succeed in these professions.
