Program Description

The Undergraduate Certificate in Public and Community Health is available for all UVU students with a particular focus designed to provide high school students an opportunity to obtain a stackable certificate of proficiency with an emphasis in career and technical education while still enrolled in high school. This certificate is available from the University for college students/adults looking for basic entry-level skills leading to further academic advancement and learn more about Public and Community Health as a career field.

Graduation Requirements

1. Completion of a minimum of 15 semester credits.
2. Overall grade point average of 2.5 or above. 
3. All core courses must be completed with grade 'C' or higher.

Program Learning Outcomes

1. Describe key terms and concepts currently used in the areas of mathematics, first aid, interpersonal communication and nutrition through writing and other assignments.
2. Discuss the relevance of first aid, interpersonal communication and nutrition to concerns of society through writing and other assignments.
3. Apply the process of science by generating hypotheses, critically evaluating data, and solving problems.
