Program Description

Provides expertise in planning, evaluating, and revising texts for publication. Prepares students for both publishing-related careers and fields that require effective communication. Teaches advocacy for readers’ needs while also respecting authors’ creative decisions, complying with relevant policies or regulations, and meeting other stakeholders’ expectations.  Prepares students to edit and design content for translation, localization, and globalization.  Depending upon emphases may include information architecture, visual rhetoric, usability, accessibility, user experience, and quality control.  Provides opportunities to develop design and editorial judgment and to develop skills in problem-solving, collaboration, and project management.

Matriculation Requirements

  1. AA/AS degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning and one year full-time employment.
