Program Description

The Art and Design, Undergraduate Certificate provides foundational instruction in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art, utilizing traditional and digital tools. Students develop skills in creating artwork that demonstrates mastery of design elements and excellence in craftsmanship. This program encourages exploration across various media, techniques, and styles, while fostering collaborative critique with peers from diverse artistic backgrounds. Additionally, students gain an understanding of how art influences and reflects cultural and subcultural perspectives.

Graduation Requirements

1. Completion of a minimum of 30 credits.
2. Overall GPA of 2.0 or higher.
3. Residency hours -- Minimum of 10 credits required through course attendance at UVU.

4. Critique projects in collaboration with a variety of individuals from different emphases inside and/or outside of the department.
