Program Description
The Dance, AS is a two-year, pre-major degree that provides foundational knowledge and skills in dance. Students engage in a diverse curriculum including Modern/Contemporary Dance, Ballet, Jazz technique, improvisation, composition, dance conditioning, somatic studies, and dance as a cultural practice. Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Dance will complete the Dance, AS requirements during their studies and are eligible to receive the degree upon completion.

Graduation Requirements
- Completion of a minimum of 60 semester credits.
- Overall grade point average of 2.0 (C) or above. (Departments may require a higher GPA.)
- Residency hours -- minimum of 20 credit hours through course attendance at UVU.
- Completion of GE and specified departmental requirements.
