Program Description
The Dance, BFA offers students a comprehensive foundation in ballet technique, performance, and choreography through an integrated study of historical, somatic, scientific, and theoretical perspectives. This program prepares graduates for advanced artistic and academic pursuits by combining a broad general education core with specialized ballet courses. Students gain practical experience through performance opportunities such as the Repertory Ballet Ensemble, a pre-professional group known for its classical and contemporary repertoire, and Senior Capstone concerts that showcase their culminating work. Additionally, this program provides access to national and international guest artists, as well as participation in academic conferences and regional festivals including the American College Dance Association Conference and the National Conference of Undergraduate Research.
