Program Description
Provides rigorous dance training with a strong foundation in technique and choreography, and a serious scholarly study of dance in its historical, somatic, theoretical, scientific, pedagogical, and cultural contexts. Prepares the next generation of dance artists and scholars for a myriad career opportunities. Provides opportunities for students to work with nationally and internationally recognized guest artists and to work alongside faculty mentors in scholarly and creative research. Includes tracks in Ballroom Dance, Commercial Dance, and Pre-Dance Therapy. Prepares students to enter the world as artists, teachers, performers, choreographers, critical thinkers, problem solvers, and engaged human beings.

Students must complete a minimum of 40 upper-division credits.
Graduation Requirements
- Completion of a minimum of 120 semester credits; a minimum of 40 credits must be upper division.
- Overall GPA of 2.0 (C) or above.
- Overall GPA of 2.5 or above in all DANC courses.
- Residency hours: minimum of 30 credit hours through course attendance at UVU, with at least 10 hours earned in the last 45 hours.
- Completion of GE and specified departmental requirements.
- Successful completion of at least one Global/Intercultural course and two Writing Enriched courses.
