Program Description
The Writing for Entertainment Media, Minor prepares students to write professionally for film, television, and digital media. Through coursework in scriptwriting, film analysis, and story editing, students develop skills in script formatting, visual storytelling, character development, and audience engagement. Students also gain insight into the business and economic aspects of media writing, making this minor an ideal complement to majors in film, communication, theatre, and related fields. This minor includes the creation of a complete long-form script, providing a strong portfolio piece for entry into the entertainment industry.
