Program Description
The Automotive Technology Program at Utah Valley University is designed to provide students with the technical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to excel in the rapidly evolving automotive industry. This comprehensive program offers hands-on training and academic coursework that covers a wide range of automotive systems, including internal combustion engines, hybrid and electric vehicle technologies, transmission systems, electrical principles, HVAC, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD). Students will gain expertise in diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of modern automotive systems using state-of-the-art equipment and tools. The program emphasizes the integration of electronic and mechanical systems, safety protocols, and environmental considerations such as EPA regulations and alternative fuel technologies. Graduates will be prepared for certifications, such as Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), and for careers in automotive service, diagnostics, engineering support, and technical management roles in both traditional and emerging automotive sectors.
Graduation Plan
This graduation plan is a sample plan and is intended to be a guide. Your specific plan may differ based on your Math and English placement and/or transfer credits applied. You are encouraged to meet with an advisor and set up an individualized graduation plan in Wolverine Track.
