The English Education minor degree gives students crucial insights into teaching English in grades 6-12 in Utah public and private schools. Students build on a foundation of rigorous theory and practice to develop pedagogical skills and subject area expertise for effective teaching of English. In addition to a range of literature and writing courses, students complete methods and practicum courses that focus on specific strategies to teach the four Utah State Core strands: reading, writing, speaking/listening, and language. Students enrolled in this minor must be accepted into a Secondary Education major.
