Program Description
The Middle School Math Endorsement Certificate program is designed for individuals who plan to teach Mathematics at the middle school level. It prepares individuals to become state certified Mathematics teachers in 6th Grade Math through Secondary Math 1 Extended. Individuals who complete the certificate program will develop an understanding of pedagogical approaches appropriate for middle school students while solidifying their mathematical content knowledge. Furthermore, the Middle School Math Endorsement Certificate program can be completed in addition to a B.S. in Elementary Education or a B.S. in Secondary Education with another content (major) area. The certificate program provides flexibility in meeting the needs of in-service Elementary, Middle, Junior High, and High School teachers. This Certificate Program is intended for: - Current Elementary or Special Education majors who desire a Middle School Mathematics Endorsement - Current Secondary Education majors with a different primary endorsement area who desire a Middle School Mathematics Endorsement - Already licensed teachers (Elementary or Secondary) who desire a Middle School Mathematics Endorsement
