Program Description
The Minor in Languages requires proficiency in upper-division coursework in one language taught by the Department of Languages and Cultures, and intermediate-level proficiency in another language also offered by the same department (prerequisites will vary from student to student). The program prepares students for the realities and challenges of a global workplace, where language proficiency is at a premium and the ability to communicate successfully in multiple languages can be crucial to a huge variety of commercial, governmental, and societal functions. Many graduate programs require language proficiency, and students who complete this program will find themselves in an advantageous position with regard to admissions and options for further study.
