Program Description
The Minor in Languages requires upper division course work in one language and intermediate level course work in another language (prerequisites will vary from student to student).

Graduation Requirements
- Completion of Baccalaureate Degree.
- Any grade below a "C" (2.0) in a Languages Minor course will not be accepted.

Program Learning Outcomes
- Negotiate meaning through speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills at the Advanced Mid rating of the ACTFL proficiency levels in one language, and at Intermediate High in a second language.
- Interpret meaning in oral and written form with no recourse to active negotiation of meaning with the writer, speaker, or producer at the Advanced Mid rating of the ACTFL proficiency levels in one language, and at the Intermediate High level in a second language.
- Create messages that can be interpreted by members of the target language with no recourse to active negotiation of meaning with the writer, speaker, or producer at the Advanced Mid rating of the ACTFL proficiency levels in one language, and at Intermediate High in a second language.
- Use cultural knowledge to perform, linguistically and behaviorally, in various social and work-related settings at the Advanced Rating of the ACTFL Cultural Awareness descriptor in one language, and at Intermediate in a second language.
