Program Description
The Spanish, Minor offers students advanced proficiency in the Spanish language and a comprehensive understanding of Spanish-speaking societies, including immigrant communities. Through coursework in language acquisition, cultural studies, and the history of the Spanish-speaking world, students gain valuable insights into global perspectives, with a particular focus on Spain and Spanish America. This minor complements any degree major at UVU and enhances career opportunities in international business, diplomacy, and other global fields.
Matriculation Requirements
- Complete ENGL 2010 Intermediate Academic Writing and 30 hours of college-level courses other than Spanish with a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Complete lower division Spanish courses (1010, 1020, 2010, and 202G) or receive the equivalent through experiential credit (does not apply to native speakers).
- Admitted to a bachelor degree program at UVU.
