Program Description
The Deaf Studies, Minor prepares students to understand the cultural, historical, and linguistic aspects of the Deaf community in America. Through coursework in Deaf culture, history, and American Sign Language, students explore the unique perspectives and experiences of culturally Deaf individuals, particularly within the context of the Deaf-World. This minor is an ideal complement to majors in social sciences, education, linguistics, and related fields, providing students with a strong foundation for work in different professional settings.
Matriculation Requirements
- Declaration of a major in a bachelor degree program at UVU
- Completion of ASL 2020G Intermediate American Sign Language II or equivalent
